Over 400 scholars convened in Tianjin to deliberate on the topics of low-carbonization and intelligence in internal combustion engines. This gathering took place during the 2023 Transportation Energy and Intelligent Power Conference and the 2023 International Academic Conference on Advanced Vehicle Power Systems held in the city.

The China Internal Combustion Engine Society 2023 Transportation Energy and Intelligent Power Conference, along with the 2023 International Academic Conference on Advanced Vehicle Power Systems, took place in Tianjin from November 10 to 12, 2023. This conference centered on the themes of “low carbonization” and “intelligentization,” facilitating the exchange of the latest advancements in low carbonization and intelligent technologies within automobile power systems. Discussions encompassed various aspects, including intelligent power, fuel and lubricants, hybrid power, aviation power, and powertrain, while also exploring future directions.

Thirteen renowned experts from both domestic and international arenas were invited to deliver keynote and themed reports, complemented by 20 experts presenting invited reports across five branch venues. The conference received a total of 181 papers, comprising 151 in Chinese and 30 in English, with 98 papers presented during the event. Attendance exceeded 400, including experts, scholars, engineering technicians, and graduate student representatives from eight countries.

Notable attendees included Jin Donghan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, chairman of the Chinese Internal Combustion Engine Society, and president of Tianjin University; Li Shusheng, vice chairman and secretary-general of the Chinese Internal Combustion Engine Society; Xie Hui, chairman of the Internal Combustion Power Intelligence Technology Branch of the Chinese Internal Combustion Engine Society and a distinguished professor at Tianjin University; Professor Shuai Shijin, chairman of the Lubricants Branch and deputy director of the Aero Engine Research Institute at Tsinghua University; Long Wuqiang, executive director of the China Internal Combustion Engine Society and professor at Dalian University of Technology; Li Yicong, executive director of the China Internal Combustion Engine Society and general manager of Dalian CRRC Diesel Engine Co., Ltd., among others. The opening ceremony of the conference was conducted by Jin Donghan.
